The transistion from winter into spring is in my mind the ideal time to get cosy at home and re-invent ones look. I always spend the first few weeks of the New Year, moving my apartment around and reassessing the contents of my wardrobe. This year the focus is mostly about attempting to maintain a stylish home while accommodating the safety of an extremely active 11 month old. In fact I’d say this sums up my personal style focus of 2016. How to stay me whilst being a hands on mum.
The catwalks are awash this coming season with a feminine yet versatile look. Think silk and lace lingerie for day wear, a touch of the metallic, off the shoulder numbers and wearing red like a protest. The winter trend of faux fur remains a cosy addition to your jumpers with shades of burgandy brightening into a rich red albeit softened by a rather lovely rose quartz. Handbags are turning white or quirky and a chunky heel means the ladies can keep dancing till early in the morning.
I always keep an eye on the trends when buying for the boutique but my focus always stays on quality, versitality and attention to detail. I love all the collections we hold but what are my hero pieces for the new season? Well so far…
The new Cocoa Cashmere collection has already arrived instore, a gorgeous duck egg blue and the softest of rose hues with lovely shell detail buttons. 100% Cashmere fabulousness! I’ll be wearing mine with my favourite skinny jeans by Saltspin an essential for every ladies wardrobe. New designers have been added to The London Assembly Mix and the Fox bag by Bell and Fox is already a firm favourite. I’ve wanted to add Cocorose London footwear for awhile and am so pleased with the styles we have instore and can’t wait to wear the White City trainers in a limited edition Liberty print called bamboo, and finally I’m so pleased that the faux fur trend was seen again at Miu Miu because this really is an easy way to add some luxe to your wardrobe and every mum needs that to remind herself she can be glam too!
